Health information is only useful if you can tell where it came from. This page sets out how content on MenoStage is produced.
Who writes this
Articles are written and reviewed by a healthcare professional with a background in medicine and pharmaceutical practice. Author details appear on each article.
What we base content on
Factual claims come from primary and guideline-level sources:
- Clinical practice guidelines and position statements from recognised professional bodies.
- Systematic reviews, meta-analyses and large prospective cohort studies.
- Regulatory sources for licensing and safety information.
Every figure, mechanism and duration stated in an article is numbered to one of these sources in the reference list at the foot of the page, with a link, so any claim can be checked against the original.
How we choose what to write about
We do read other menopause websites — not as sources for medical facts, but to see which questions are answered poorly or skipped altogether. A page is usually worth writing where existing coverage leaves someone still confused: a term nobody defines, a group the standard advice quietly excludes, a number everyone repeats without saying where it came from.
Those observations shape our choice of topic. They do not shape the content, which comes from the sources above.
How we handle uncertainty
Where evidence is limited, mixed or contested, we say so plainly rather than choosing whichever version reads better. Where a popular remedy is not well supported by trials, we report that, including when the product is one that websites are commonly paid to promote.
Reviews and updates
Each article carries a published date and a last-updated date. Guidance changes, and pages are revised when it does.
